9-1-1 Exclusive Sneak Peek: Eddie’s Got 99 Problems…And Home Renovations Are Just One

Eddie Diaz has arrived in Texas!

While we didn’t see or hear from Eddie during 9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 11, his presence loomed large over the hour, and 9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 12 drops us right into Eddie’s Texas life, something we’ve been clamoring to see.

As you’ll see in the clip exclusive to TV Fanatic, Eddie is looking to find a new work home in El Paso while dealing with some home renovations gone wrong.

If you were worried about missing any time with Eddie in Texas, fear not. When we meet back up with him, only a few weeks have passed, and he’s just starting to get settled in.

For him, settling in means looking for a new firefighter job and fixing his new house!

Eddie came to Texas to reunite with Christopher and re-establish himself in his everyday life, but he’ll still need to work. Hopefully, in fixing up his new home, Christopher will want to be there as well.

But before that happens, he has some work to do because the house has a few issues.

Home renovations aside, we’ve been waiting a long time (the entirety of 9-1-1 Season 8) to see father and son back together and working on their relationship.

The pair have a lot to talk about, and as showrunner Tim Minear told us when we chatted with him after 9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 11, he shared regarding Eddie, “… you’ll see what his situation is in El Paso and what he’s dealing with. Like, what is his story with trying to reconnect with his kid?”

With Eddie in Texas, life must go on in Los Angeles, and for Maddie, that means a return to work, but it may not go as smoothly as she had hoped.

Maddie went through a highly traumatic event during 9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 10, and she’ll continue to feel the effects of that during this hour.

Some time has certainly passed since the event, but the pain won’t just dissipate with time.

Considering that the events of what happened were set in motion while she was at work, her return there could be triggering.

Maddie’s been through so much, and hopefully, with the support of those who love her, she’ll continue on a healing path moving forward, though it may not be easy.

Since the series returned to finish its eighth season, it has been on an absolute tear, and this is poised to be another terrific hour spent with two characters who deserve a spotlight as their stories continue.
